If you’re living on a houseboat or barge, you’ve got access to fishing spots most people can only dream about. You can moor up somewhere quiet for a week, fish from your own boat, and move on whenever you fancy a change of scenery.
River houseboats are brilliant for this. You can fish for pike, perch, and roach without ever needing to pack up your gear and drive somewhere. Just step out onto your deck with your rod and you’re sorted.
The running costs might be higher than renting a flat, but if you’re a keen angler, being able to fish whenever you want makes it worth considering. Just bear in mind you’ll still need the right fishing permits for wherever you moor up.
