Lots of people who live on houseboats love fishing, but houseboats aren’t always practical for serious fishing trips. They’re too big and slow for getting out to deeper water quickly, and mooring costs can add up if you’re constantly moving around.
A smaller fishing boat can be a great addition. You can keep it tied alongside your houseboat and use it for day trips. This gives you the comfort of living on your houseboat whilst still being able to fish properly.
Of course, owning two boats means double the maintenance and insurance costs. You need to weigh up whether the extra expense is worth it, or whether fishing from your houseboat is good enough for your needs.
